100% Pure Xanthan Gum

Xanthan Gum is a 100% natural gum used as an emulsifying, stabilising, binding and thickening agent in many personal care products.

It is derived from the fermentation of carbohydrates with xanthomonas campestris with a low alcohol and bacteria.  It is widely used in lotions, creams, liquid soap, shower gels, body washes, foundations, shampoos and many more.

Largely increasing the viscosity of a liquid with the addition of only a very small amount of xanthan gum, it also helps to create a smooth and even application - plus it also helps to bind products and keep them from separating.

Add Xanthan Gum to the water phase of your formulation and whisk well. To prevent formation of lumps (or blobs) of powder in your formula, it is suggested to create a vortex in the water with your mixer and sprinkle/sift the xanthan gum into the vortex, rather than adding it all at once. You can also sift the combined water again after the Xanthan Gum has been added (and whisked thoroughly), to further remove any lumps, leaving a beautifully smooth gel.
