But all jokes aside, when it comes to essential oils many of us are so fast to think of feminine floral aromas, we often forget just how versatile these natural wonders are. From treating snoring and cold sores, to enhancing pre and post exercise routines, essential oils can be used to combat life’s unexpected challenges and improve daily routines. Pre & Post Exercise
Preparing the muscles for exercise is crucial for any athlete wanting to enhance physical performance. When used correctly, essential oils can increase mental focus and keep the body hydrated during exercise, whilst also reducing mid-workout fatigue.
Pre-Workout
To optimise performance we recommend adding either AWO's Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Ginger, Lemongrass, Wintergreen or Peppermint essential oil to a carrier oil of choice, at a 1 - 2% dilution.
Post-Workout
To ease that post-workout muscle soreness AWO's Black Pepper, Chamomile (Roman), Lavender, Lemon and Rosemary oils can be beneficial when diluted in a carrier oil and applied topically.
Insect Repellent
Dads, we know how much you love those weekend camping trips, we also know how much you don't love returning with mosquito bites. Essential oils can be a natural and safe alternative to store bought insect repellents, did I also mention that it is incredibly easy to make?
Simply add the following ingredients to a spray bottle
1 tablespoon of any preferred carrier oil (we recommend Grapeseed Oil)
5 drops of AWO's Lemongrass essential oil
3 drops of AWO's Rose Geranium essential oil
Shake to combine and there you have it!
Furniture Polish
When it comes to skincare Jojoba Oil is widely recognized for its nourishing and hydrating properties, but did you know that this particular oil can be used to make your very own furniture polish?
Recipe
1/2 cup of Jojoba Oil
1/4 cup of white vinegar
20 drops of AWO's Lemon essential oil
Outcome
The Jojoba Oil will moisturise the wood whilst the Lemon oil will leave a beautiful shine.
Snoring & Insomnia
Snoring can be frustrating, disruptive and painful however, certain essential oils are known to help alleviate symptoms when diffused. Individually, AWO's Basil, Cedarwood, Cypress, Lavender, Sandalwood and Peppermint essential oils can be effective in clearing nasal passageways and reducing inflammation around nasal openings.
