AWO’s ‘Travel Assist’ is comprised of three essential oils that are known to be incredibly beneficial in alleviating the stressors of travel. Due to the natural antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, sedative and anti-anxiety properties, each essential oil within this pack is known to assist with alleviating motion sickness, nerves and anxiety, an upset stomach and low energy thanks to jetlag. They have also been seen to help with a lowered immune system, headaches and insect bites making them a perfect versatile travel companion

Peppermint Essential Oil (15ml): Peppermint Essential Oil is known for its ability to combat nausea and assist with motion sickness, with natural antispasmodic properties said to relax the gastric muscles and level unsettled tummies. Peppermint also helps ease headaches and can assist with emotional & mental fatigue.

Frankincense Essential Oil (15ml): Frankincense Essential Oil's antibacterial and antiviral properties, make it a great oil to help strengthen immunity and stay healthy while traveling. Frankincense is also known to calm and comfort those who are feeling anxious, stressed, or nervous. 

Lemon Essential Oil (15ml): Natural antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial abilities makes Lemon Essential Oil one of the best essential oils for painful insect bites, killing harmful viruses and bacteria, and reducing inflammation. Lemon Oil also fights exhaustion, anxiety and nausea, common symptoms of travel stressors.

There are countless ways to use essential oils, but below are a few of our favourite ideas to get you started;

  • Travel Assist Roller: To create an on-the-go travel assist essential oil roller blend, add 2 drops of each Essential Oil into a 15ml roller bottleand top up with Fractionated Coconut Oil. Once diluted, apply to your wrists, temples, and behind the ears.
  • Bug Bite Spot Treatment: Add 5 drops of Lemon Oil and 10 drops of another Essential Oil of your choosing, into a 10ml roller bottle and top up with Fractionated Coconut Oil – Apply to spots and bites as needed.
  • Antibacterial Room Spray: In a small spray bottle, combine 3 tbsp Witch Hazel or Rubbing Alcohol (Vodka also works well!) with 15-20 drops Essential Oil and mix thoroughly. Add ½ cup Water to finish and shake well. Spray throughout your room to purify the air.
  • Fast Remedy: Add 1 – 2 drops of your chosen Essential Oil to a tissue and inhale at a distance while ensuring that the oil does not come into direct contact with the skin.

Essential Oil Safety

  • In line with the Therapeutic Goods Act, we do not recommend ingesting essential oils without the guidance of a registered Aromatherapist or Naturopath. Essential Oils are extremely potent and can cause serious harm if used incorrectly.
  • Essential oils should be kept out of reach of children and pets.
  • Avoid using Essential Oils during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding.
  • Essential Oils are very concentrated and are likely to cause irritation if applied directly to the skin. For this reason, we recommend diluting your essential oils before using topically (on the skin). For skin application we recommend a 2-4% dilution and for facial application we recommend a 1-2% dilution for adults.
