AWO’s ‘Active Aid ’ is comprised of three essential oils that are known to be incredibly beneficial in easing sore and tired muscles. Due to the natural anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, each essential oil within this pack is known to alleviate inflammation throughout the body, ease joint pain, and relieve muscle soreness, spasms and tightness.

Rosemary Essential Oil (15ml): The camphor content within Rosemary Essential Oil makes this oil highly beneficial for alleviating muscular and joint complaints. Rosemary Oil works wonderfully in massage oils, as its analgesic and warming action helps to increase circulation, relieve fluid retention & inflammation, and stimulate the nervous system.
Wintergreen Essential Oil (15ml): Wintergreen Essential Oil is primarily known to be a warming analgesic, effective in treating rheumatic and arthritic pain, helping to release muscle spasms, fatigue and tension. Wintergreen Oil is also commonly found in a lot of muscle creams and lotion.
Eucalyptus Essential Oil (15ml): Eucalyptus Essential Oil has been known to ease muscle and joint aches and pains, and improve poor circulation. Through topical application, Eucalyptus Oil has also been used to treat symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and nerve pain.

There are countless ways to use essential oils, but below are a few of our favourite ideas to get you started;
- In the Bath: For a quick and easy muscle soak, add 2-3 drops of essential oil to a warm bath and relax for as long as you can. Adding some Epsom Salts can also help to boost their rejuvenating properties.
- Massage Oil: Create your own muscle ease Massage Oil by coming 10-12 drops of essential oil with 50ml base massage oil or carrier oil of your choice. Massage into your muscles and let the anti-inflammatory and warming properties Muscle Balm: Prepare a balm by gently melting 8g Candelilla Wax (or 15g Beeswax) in a double boiler, allow to coll slightly before adding 50g Almond Oil and 25-30 drops Essential Oil. Pour into a glass jad and allow to cool until set before running onto your problem areas.
- Magnesium Spray: In a small spray bottle, combine 25g Magnesium Chloride Flakes with 50g disstilled water, with 15-20 drops Essential Oil. Shake well before each use and soray onto your sore and tired muscles.
Essential Oil Safety
- In line with the Therapeutic Goods Act, we do not recommend ingesting essential oils without the guidance of a registered Aromatherapist or Naturopath. Essential Oils are extremely potent and can cause serious harm if used incorrectly.
- Essential oils should be kept out of reach of children and pets.
- Avoid using Essential Oils during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding.
- Essential Oils are very concentrated and are likely to cause irritation if applied directly to the skin. For this reason, we recommend diluting your essential oils before using topically (on the skin). For skin application we recommend a 2-4% dilution and for facial application we recommend a 1-2% dilution for adults.
